TAPiO participates at the Pre-Launch Ceremony of Recreational Vehicle Park Planning Guidelines
SHAH ALAM, May 25, 2024 – Today marks a significant event as YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Housing and Local Government, officiated the Pre-Launch of the Recreational Vehicle Park Planning Guidelines (GPP TaKeR) in conjunction with National Landscape Day 2024 (HLN 2024). The event was graced by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, who were accompanied by his daughter, Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim. His Majesty’s arrival was greeted by YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming, YB Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu, Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, and YAB Dato’ Seri Amiruddin Bin Shari, Chief Minister of Selangor.
Also present at the inauguration ceremony were YB Dato’ Setia Haji Haris Bin Kasim, Secretary of the Selangor State Government; YBrs Tuan Ir. Haji Cheremi Bin Haji Tarman, Mayor of Shah Alam; YB Members of the Selangor State Government Meeting; YB Members of the Selangor State Parliament; Honorable Members of the Shah Alam City Council; Honorable Mrs. Asmah Binti Mohd Zin, Deputy Secretary of Management; Honorable Mrs. Majidah Binti Md Ali, Director of Landscape, MBSA, and MBSA Senior Management.
GPP TaKeR aims to ensure efficient site planning, management, and operation of recreational vehicle parks (RVP), focusing on safety, comfort, and environmental sustainability. This guideline will support the tourism and manufacturing industries in the recreational vehicle segment, with an estimated investment value exceeding RM15 billion by 2030. Preparing these guidelines has involved extensive engagement with MITI, MOT, MOTAC, MOSTI, ECERDC, MOF, PBT, and PBN, as well as industry players and public feedback.
The main scope of these guidelines includes:
- Planning of recreational vehicle sites and parks
- Mechanisms for the development and regulation of recreational vehicle sites and parks
- Operational management of recreational vehicle sites and parks
TAPiO Management Advisory was pleased to have been part of this momentous occasion. Our Chairman, Mr. Bernhard Schutte, was honoured to be invited to the Pre-Launch Ceremony of the Recreational Vehicle Park Planning Guidelines. We proudly displayed one of our caravans with fully certified JPJ’s VTA at the event. The regulation of rules and guidelines for Recreational Vehicle Parks is a significant step towards encouraging more people to embrace the RV lifestyle and attracting new foreign tourists to explore Malaysia’s beautiful countryside in an RV.
It is hoped that GPP TaKeR will become the primary reference for all stakeholders to ensure the development of recreational vehicle sites and parks, prioritizing natural sustainability and public safety through proper development and regulatory procedures.
National Landscape Day 2024 will take place from May 24, 2024, to June 2, 2024, and will feature various exhibitions, sales, competitions, programs, and activities designed for landscape industry players and visitors.
