Building a Strong RV Ecosystem in Malaysia: TAPiO Presents to PEKEMA
TAPiO Management Advisory recently had the honour of presenting the immense potential of the Recreational Vehicle (RV) industry to the leadership of PEKEMA, the association representing Malaysia’s automotive importers. The meeting, chaired by PEKEMA President Datuk Mohamed Nazari Noordin, saw the active participation of key figures such as Vice President Raja Petra Marudin, Committee Member Mohd Hafiz, and Nik Irfan, Head of the PEKEMA Youth Council. We were also delighted to have Mr. Azizi Mustafa, CEO of Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF), join the discussion.
The session provided an in-depth overview of the RV industry, emphasising the opportunities for dealerships and RV rentals in Malaysia. TAPiO and AsiaRV highlighted how the RV market can support sustainable travel, create new business opportunities, and stimulate economic growth, particularly in developing regions of the country.
A crucial part of the discussion was the potential for new vehicle dealerships and how this complements the existing used RV market. Like in the car industry, the RV sector is segmented into entry-level, mid-range, and high-end vehicles, both new and used. This ensures that those currently involved in the used RV market can continue their successful operations while exploring new opportunities.
Our presentation underscored the importance of regulatory frameworks, infrastructure development, and stakeholder collaboration to realise the RV industry’s full potential in Malaysia. By working together, we can build a robust and sustainable RV ecosystem that benefits all involved.
