Overview of the RV Tourism industry to the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC)
The presentation, chaired by Mdm. Masliza binti Che Omar, Undersecretary of the Industrial Development Division at MOTAC, brought together key departments and agencies, including Licensing, Conventions, Business Development, and Regulation. This diverse attendance highlighted the importance of RV tourism as a multifaceted contributor to Malaysia’s tourism sector, capable of driving growth, enhancing rural tourism, and offering new avenues for both domestic and international travellers.
During the session, TAPiO and AsiaRV shared industry expertise, focusing on the RV market’s potential to enhance tourism offerings in Malaysia. We discussed how RV tourism could support sustainable travel, create new business opportunities, and stimulate economic growth in less-developed regions of the country. Our presentation also underscored the vital role of regulatory frameworks, infrastructure development, and stakeholder collaboration in realizing the full potential of RV tourism.
We are deeply grateful to Mdm. Masliza binti Che Omar, for her leadership in facilitating this meeting. We appreciate the active participation of all MOTAC departments. The engagement and shared vision among participants reflect a collective commitment to developing a vibrant and sustainable RV tourism ecosystem in Malaysia.
